As your main getaway, you're going to be using it to try and bump someone away.Unlike Rook’s ultimate, Blossom’s ultimate is treated as a projectile and can trigger counters like Ruh Kaan’s Consume and be thrown back by Oldur's Time Bender. This is important! As an escape ability, if you use your Molten Fist and crash into a Freya counter, you won’t bump her away and you’ll be afflicted with Static where she can then M1 you to death.

Even after 1000 games, when I picked up Ruh Kaan, this surprised me. However, Ruh Kaan’s Sinister Strike (Spacebar) will deal 16 area damage and triggers counters. For example, Ashka’s Searing Flight (Spacebar) will deal 10 area damage on impact and not trigger counters. Where the confusion normally comes in is the distinction between what I like to call “physical attacks” and “AoEs”. This is important since Iva’s rocket and Jade’s ultimate have area of effect (AoE) damage which will not trigger counters. I make the distinction between all projectiles and projectile hitboxes because it only triggers if the projectile’s initial hitbox hits the champion’s counter. There are also types of abilities that will always trigger counters: For the purpose of this guide, I will refer to both of them as counters. Two examples are Oldur's Time Bender and Ruh Kaan's Consume. Shields will trigger an effect when hit by an ability and will do so until it is interrupted, cancelled, or the duration ends. Counters' effects immediately trigger when hit by an ability from any direction, such as Shifu's Kunju and Sirius' Sunrise. Before we start, let’s define “counters” and "shields". I’ve also included certain effects from Battlerites, such as Freya’s Charged Lightning. To sort out this confusion, I’ve sorted, by champion, what moves trigger counters and which ones don’t. “Why does Ashka’s ultimate not trigger counters but Blossom’s does?” However, for the people triggering the counters, they are a source of chagrin and frustration. The nature of counters is that they are risky but they have big pay-offs. In Battlerite, there are a load of champions who have counters. I’ve been thinking about making a guide to help new people into the game so here it is! It’s more intended for new players but I hope it’s just a good resource to have.
